"Kotha has been formed from Testing Vault "deus ex machina" Daniele Santagiuliana, a longtime artist in the experimental music field, which thought it would have been liberating to unleash, aside from his dystiopic visions on a more conceptual level, some basic gutter low instinct with the rawest material he could record at the first take.

Kotha debut album has been released in CD by Italian label This Winter Will Last Forever in May 2017, but after a first record which recalled Burzum, early Bathory, Darkthrone and the more classic black metal, he choose the new face of Kotha would have been much more deranged, bleak and dark. Inspired by bands such as Abruptum, Reverorum Ib Malacht, and the most raw side of Urfaust early stuff, Kotha recorded "Black Animal Hex" keeping the title true to itself: a growling beast on basic mid-tempos, unleash all the bile he could above Death. If DSBM would turn the volume and his stomach on, this would be the result: a radical record, out for a radical label such as Hate Mail Records - both in digital and in a limited tape format."
